Repair Systems — Basement Water Ingress
Crack injection port and packer systems
Technical product reference for surface-mounted injection ports, drill-in injection packers, and low-pressure injection equipment used to deliver hydrophilic PU, acrylic gel, and epoxy resins into cracks, construction joints, and voids in basement walls and slabs in Australian Class 2 strata and commercial buildings. Covers port vs packer selection, spacing, pressure, capping sequence, and resin compatibility.
What are crack injection ports & packers?
Ports and packers are the delivery hardware for crack injection — they connect the injection pump to the crack. Surface ports (low pressure) are bonded over the crack with epoxy paste and suit thin sections, congested reinforcement and hard-to-access cracks where drilling is undesirable. Drill-in packers (high pressure) are drilled into the crack or joint and torqued to seal, delivering higher pressure to overcome water pressure, fill tight cracks, and seal joints systematically — and they hold on wet or contaminated surfaces where surface ports would detach.
Selection follows the resin and condition: low-pressure surface ports for acrylic / light PU on sound dry concrete; drill-in packers for active water, joints, epoxy structural repair, or unreliable surfaces. A rebar scan is mandatory before drilling, the crack is surface-sealed between ports before injection, and packer holes are patched with epoxy mortar afterwards. Injection is a specialist trade.

Sika Australia
Sika Injection Port (LP — surface port)
Surface-mounted injection port — low pressure
Sika surface injection ports are bonded over the crack with epoxy paste for low-pressure delivery of PU or acrylic resins — used where drilling is undesirable (thin sections, congested reinforcement, hard-to-access cracks). They require a dry, clean, sound surface and a cured epoxy surface-seal applied between the ports before injection. They are part of an EN 1504-5 injection system; pair with the Sika resin being injected. Confirm port type, spacing and surface-seal product from the Sika system documentation.
Sika Australia
Sika Injection Packer (HP — drill-in packer)
Drill-in mechanical packer — high pressure
Sika drill-in mechanical packers are drilled into the crack or joint and torqued to seal, for high-pressure delivery of PU or epoxy resins — used for active cracks needing higher pressure to overcome water pressure, systematic joint sealing (~200–250 mm centres; staggered depths for cold joints), and where surface-port adhesion is unreliable (wet / contaminated / irregular surfaces). Rebar-scan before drilling and keep cover above AS 3600 minimums; patch packer holes with epoxy mortar after removal. EN 1504-5 injection system; pair with the Sika resin being injected.
Master Builders Solutions
Master Builders surface injection port (ex-BASF MasterInject)
Surface-mounted injection port — low pressure
Master Builders Solutions (the former BASF Construction Chemicals business) supplies surface injection ports functionally equivalent to the Sika LP port — bonded over the crack with epoxy paste for low-pressure PU / acrylic injection. Select the port/packer brand to match the resin being injected. Confirm the current AU product name and EN 1504-5 status with Master Builders Solutions Australia.
Master Builders Solutions
Master Builders drill-in packer (ex-BASF MasterInject)
Drill-in mechanical packer — high pressure
Master Builders Solutions (the former BASF Construction Chemicals business) supplies drill-in mechanical packers functionally equivalent to the Sika HP packer — drilled into the crack/joint and torqued for high-pressure PU / epoxy injection. Select the port/packer brand to match the resin being injected; rebar-scan before drilling and patch holes after removal. Confirm the current AU product name and EN 1504-5 status with Master Builders Solutions Australia.
