Husqvarna Construction
Husqvarna PG 280 — Single-Head Floor Grinder
Diamond floor grinding machine for surface preparation
Husqvarna PG 280 is a single-head diamond floor grinding machine with an integrated dust shroud connection for HEPA vacuum attachment. At 280 mm working width, it is suitable for medium-area floor preparation in apartments and commercial buildings — maneuverable through standard doorways and in smaller rooms. Used for achieving CSP 2 profile on magnesite and concrete substrates prior to moisture primer and self-levelling underlayment application.
Blastrac Australia
Blastrac 1-10DS — Single-Head Floor Grinder with Integrated Vacuum
Floor grinding machine with on-board vacuum connection
Blastrac 1-10DS is a single-head floor grinder designed with an integrated dust control connection. Its compact 250 mm working width allows access through standard doorways. Frequently used in residential strata floor preparation for magnesite grinding as it is designed from the outset for dust-controlled operation.
HTC Floor Systems
HTC Superfloor 270EG — Edge & Floor Grinding Machine
Edge-grinding floor preparation machine
HTC Superfloor 270EG is a floor and edge grinding machine with a planetary head that grinds flush to wall faces. This capability reduces or eliminates the need for separate edge grinding with an angle grinder, which is a significant time saving on magnesite floor preparation in apartments where full-area floor grinding is required. Compatible with HTC HEPA vacuum systems for compliant dust-controlled magnesite grinding.
Scanmaskin Australia (Other / Generic)
Scanmaskin Scan Combiflex 650 — Triple-Head Planetary Diamond Grinder
Triple-head planetary diamond floor grinding machine
Scanmaskin Scan Combiflex 650 is a contractor-grade triple-head planetary diamond grinder used in the Australian market for removing old magnesite and adhesive residues and profiling concrete prior to moisture primer and self-levelling underlayment application. At approximately 650 mm working width with three counter-rotating heads, it suits larger open floor areas where the 250–280 mm single-head machines are too slow. Must be connected to an M or H-class HEPA dust extractor at all times when grinding magnesite.
Husqvarna Construction
Husqvarna PG 450 — Single-Phase Diamond Floor Grinder
Planetary diamond floor grinding machine for surface preparation
Husqvarna PG 450 is a single-phase planetary diamond floor grinder, one step up in working width from the PG 280, suited to larger magnesite removal and floor preparation areas while still running on a standard single-phase supply. Its 450 mm working width improves throughput on open apartment and commercial floors when achieving a minimum CSP 2 profile prior to moisture primer and self-levelling underlayment. Must be connected to an M or H-class HEPA dust extractor at all times when grinding magnesite.
Festool Australia
Festool CTL MIDI — M-Class HEPA Dust Extractor
M-class HEPA dust extractor for magnesite and construction dust
Festool CTL MIDI is an M-class HEPA dust extractor rated to capture particles down to 1 µm, suitable for magnesite grinding dust extraction in conjunction with floor grinding machines and angle grinders. M-class filtration is the minimum required for magnesite grinding under current WHS regulations. Connected directly to the dust shroud port of the grinding machine, it captures magnesite dust at source before it becomes airborne.
Makita Australia
Makita VC3211MX1 — M-Class HEPA Industrial Vacuum
M-class HEPA industrial wet/dry vacuum for construction dust
Makita VC3211MX1 is a 32-litre M-class HEPA industrial wet/dry vacuum suitable for use in conjunction with floor grinding machines during magnesite floor preparation. Its large capacity reduces the frequency of bag changes on larger floor areas. M-class HEPA filtration meets the minimum dust capture standard required for magnesite grinding under WHS regulations.

Do not confuse floor grinding machines with:
- Angle grinders with grinding discs — hand-held angle grinders with diamond discs are used for edge areas, corners, and restricted spaces that floor grinding machines cannot reach; they are not a substitute for floor grinding machines on main floor areas, which are too slow, inconsistent, and physically demanding for whole-floor preparation
- Vacuum cleaners and standard shop vacs — standard vacuum cleaners do not have HEPA filtration and are not rated for fine mineral and chemical dust; using a standard vacuum for magnesite dust collection is a WHS violation and a hazard to operators and other building occupants — only M-class or H-class HEPA extractors are compliant
- Floor polishing and burnishing machines — floor polishers and rotary burnishers are finishing machines for floor coatings and sealers; they do not achieve CSP 2 profile on magnesite or concrete and must not be used as a substitute for diamond floor grinding
- Shot blasting machines — shot blasting (steel shot propelled onto the surface) is a surface preparation method used on carpark floors and large concrete slabs; it is typically not used in residential apartment floor preparation due to noise, debris, and access constraints — diamond grinding is the standard method for apartment magnesite prep
- Scarifying machines — scarifiers (carbide-tipped rotating drum) remove large amounts of surface material quickly and are used for aggressive concrete removal; they produce very deep, irregular profiles and are not suitable for magnesite floor preparation where controlled, even stock removal is required
